Ingredients
4 medium russet or Idaho potatoes, about 7 ounces each, washed and dried
Olive oil or preferred cooking spray
1/2 teaspoon salt, plus additional salt to taste
Optional toppings: sour cream, Greek yogurt, butter, chili, chives, broccoli and cheese, bacon, cheddar cheese, green onions
Instructions
1-First, wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt, then dry them completely to help with crisping.
2-Pierce each potato all over with a fork to let steam escape during cooking.
3-Lightly spray or rub each potato with olive oil or cooking spray, and sprinkle each with 1/4 teaspoon salt from the total 1/2 teaspoon.
4-Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer for even heat flow.
5-Cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 to 40 minutes, turning the potatoes halfway through for uniform baking.
6-Check if theyβre done by inserting a knife into the center; it should slide in easily when ready.
7-Serve the potatoes split open, add extra salt and pepper if you like, and top with your favorites such as sour cream or chives.

π₯ Do not wrap potatoes in foil before air frying to ensure crispy skin.
π§ Lightly oiling the skin and adding salt creates flavor and crunch while preserving skin fiber.
π Turning potatoes halfway ensures even cooking and crispy texture all around.
