๐Ÿ”ฅ This easy-to-make dish uses simple ingredients and cooks in one pot, making it perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

– 1 pound ground beef

– 1 medium diced onion

– 1 diced bell pepper

– 1 cup diced celery

– 3 cloves minced garlic

– 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1 1/2 cups uncooked white rice

– 3 1/2 cups beef broth

– Chopped green onion or parsley for garnish

Instructions

1-Prepare all ingredients: Prepare all ingredients by finely chopping the onion, bell pepper, and celery, and mincing the garlic. Rinse the rice under cold water to remove excess starch.

2-Brown the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the 1 pound of ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain any excess fat if you prefer a leaner result.

3-Sautรฉ vegetables and seasonings: Add the 1 medium diced onion, 3 cloves minced garlic, 1 diced bell pepper, 1 cup diced celery, 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning, and 1/2 teaspoon salt to the skillet. Sautรฉ for about 5 minutes until the vegetables soften and release their aroma.

4-Toast the rice: Stir in the 1 1/2 cups uncooked white rice, mixing it well to coat with the flavors. Cook for 2 minutes to lightly toast the rice, enhancing its texture.

5-Cook with broth: Pour in the 3 1/2 cups beef broth, bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 20 to 23 minutes until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

6-Rest and garnish: Remove from heat and let it rest covered for 5 to 10 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork, then garnish with chopped green onion or parsley before serving.
