🍇 Enjoy the natural sweetness and juiciness of fresh blackberries in this easy-to-make cobbler.
🥧 The buttery crust combines a tender, cake-like texture with a simple preparation perfect for summer desserts.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 20 minutes

Ingredients

– 1/2 cup (1 stick) Butter for that rich, melt-in-your-mouth goodness

– 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar, divided (1 cup for the batter, 1/4 cup for the topping), plus 1 teaspoon for optional sprinkle to balance the tartness and add a sweet crunch

– 1 cup Self-rising flour this little wonder keeps things fluffy without any fuss

– 1 cup Milk helps mix everything into a smooth batter that’s ready to bake

– 2 cups (fresh or frozen) Blackberries the star of the show, bringing juicy, antioxidant-packed flavor

Instructions

1-First, melt the 1/2 cup butter in a microwave-safe dish until it’s nice and smooth.

2-In a mixing bowl, whisk together the 1 cup sugar and the 1 cup self-rising flour until they’re pals.

3-Gradually whisk in the 1 cup milk to create a batter that’s as welcoming as a country fair.

4-Pour in the melted butter and whisk everything until it’s combined no lumps allowed!

5-Butter your baking dish to keep things from sticking, then rinse and pat dry your 2 cups of blackberries (thaw and dry ’em if they’re frozen).

6-Pour the batter into the prepared dish and sprinkle those blackberries evenly on top.

7-Sprinkle the 1/4 cup sugar over everything for that extra sweetness, and if you’re feeling fancy, add a teaspoon more during the last 10 minutes of baking.

8-Pop it in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 1 hour, watching for that golden brown top and bubbly filling that says it’s done.

Notes

🧂 Self-rising flour eliminates the need for baking powder or salt.
❄️ Use frozen blackberries by thawing and draining thoroughly to reduce excess juice.
🍑 Substitute or combine other fruits like blueberries, raspberries, peaches, or cherries for variety.
