Ingredients

– 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)

– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

– 1 large egg

– 1/4 cup finely diced onion

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

– 1 tsp salt

– 1/2 tsp black pepper

– 1 cup bourbon BBQ sauce

– 6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and chopped

– 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

– 4 hoagie or sub rolls

– Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1-Preheat oven: to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2-In a large bowl: gently combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper without overworking the mixture.

3-Roll the mixture: into 1 1/2-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

4-Bake: for 15 to 18 minutes until cooked through.

5-While the meatballs are baking: warm the bourbon BBQ sauce in a skillet over low heat.

6-Transfer the cooked meatballs: to the skillet and toss to coat them in the sauce.

7-Place 4 to 5 meatballs: into each sub roll.

8-Top: with the shredded sharp cheddar cheese and chopped bacon.

9-Arrange the subs: on a baking sheet and broil for 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles.

10-Garnish: with fresh parsley and serve hot.
