12 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup chocolate chips

Powdered sugar, as needed for dusting

Instructions

1-Preparing the Crust: Combine the flour and salt in a medium bowl, then cut in the cold butter until the mixture is coarse with some chunks. Gradually add ice water, mixing until the dough starts to clump together. Shape it into a disc, cover, and chill for at least 2 hours for the best texture.

2-Making and Baking the Filling: Once the crust is ready, preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). In a bowl, mix the melted butter and brown sugar until fully blended. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, beating until the mixture lightens. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt to remove any lumps.

3-Making and Baking the Filling: Stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture just until combined, then fold in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the chilled crust and smooth the top. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs. Let the pie cool before serving, and add a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.
