Ingredients
– 1 lb premade pizza dough (store-bought or prepared from scratch)
– 2 cups rotisserie chicken or 2 cooked and diced chicken breasts
– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
– Marinara sauce for dipping
– 4 tablespoons softened butter for the butter topping
– 2 teaspoons fresh minced parsley for the butter topping
– 5 tablespoons butter for the Alfredo sauce
– 1 cup heavy whipping cream for the Alfredo sauce
– 4 garlic cloves, minced or grated for the Alfredo sauce
– 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or Cajun seasoning for the Alfredo sauce
– 1/4 teaspoon salt to taste for the Alfredo sauce
– 1/4 teaspoon pepper to taste for the Alfredo sauce
– 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the Alfredo sauce
Instructions
1-Preparation of Alfredo sauce: Melt 5 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat, add 4 minced or grated garlic cloves, and stir until fragrant. Then, pour in 1 cup of heavy whipping cream along with 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning or Cajun seasoning, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper. Let it simmer for about 3 minutes to thicken before stirring in 1 cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese until smooth. Let it cool for a bit.
2-Shaping the dough: Divide 1 lb of pizza dough into 4-ounce balls and shape each into a 6-inch circle using flour-dusted hands. Place 1 tablespoon of the Alfredo sauce in the center of each, add portions of 2 cups of pulled or diced chicken, and sprinkle with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
3-Folding and Cooking Steps: Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-circle and seal the edges by pinching and folding them.
For the butter topping, melt 4 tablespoons of softened butter and mix in 2 teaspoons of fresh minced parsley, then brush it on the calzones.
Air fry at 375ยฐF for about 8 minutes until golden brown, adding more butter halfway through.
Brush with butter again after cooking and serve right away, perhaps with marinara sauce for dipping.
