๐Ÿง These Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Muffins Made Easy and Delicious offer moist, tender muffins with a generous amount of melty chocolate chips.
๐Ÿซ Perfect for breakfast or snacks, they bring bakery-quality flavor and texture right to your kitchen.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 muffins 1x

Ingredients

Scale

3 cups all-purpose flour

3 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

1/3 cup (5 tablespoons; 71g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled

1/3 cup (80ml) vegetable oil

1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

2 large eggs, at room temperature

1/3 cup (80g) sour cream or plain yogurt, at room temperature

1 cup (240ml) milk, at room temperature

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 and 1/2 cups (270g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

coarse sugar for sprinkling on top

Instructions

1- Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it to prevent sticking. Make sure to gather all ingredients and measure them precisely for the best results.

2- In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg if using. This step helps distribute the leavening agents evenly for a consistent rise.

3- In another bowl, beat the eggs before adding the melted unsalted butter, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, sour cream or plain yogurt, milk, and pure vanilla extract. Mixing wet ingredients separately ensures they blend well without overworking the batter.

4- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Remember, avoiding overmixing keeps the muffins tender and prevents a tough texture, which is a common tip for home bakers.

5- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly throughout the batter to distribute those gooey pockets of chocolate.

6- Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full to allow for proper rising during baking.

7- Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the muffins cool on a wire rack before serving, and feel free to sprinkle coarse sugar on top for a crunchy finish.
