Ingredients

– 6 pieces bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces

– 1 small onion, diced

– 3 garlic cloves, minced

– 2 tablespoons stone ground mustard (or Dijon mustard as a substitute)

– ΒΌ teaspoon smoked paprika

– 1 head cabbage, sliced and chopped

– Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

1-First, prepare the cabbage by heating a large pan over medium heat and cooking the 6 pieces of bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set it aside, leaving about 2 tablespoons of bacon grease in the pan.

2-Second, add the 1 small diced onion to the pan and sautΓ© for 2 to 3 minutes until it becomes translucent.

3-Third, stir in the 3 minced garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons stone ground mustard, ΒΌ teaspoon smoked paprika, and Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

4-Fourth, add the 1 head of sliced and chopped cabbage to the pan and sautΓ© for 12 to 15 minutes until it softens and slightly caramelizes.

5-Fifth, return the crispy bacon pieces to the pan, stir everything together, and serve hot.
