2 tablespoons (25g) granulated sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons yeast

3/4 teaspoon table salt

2 large eggs at room temperature

1/4 cup (57g) water

6 tablespoons (85g) cold butter

1/3 cup (67g) granulated sugar

3 tablespoons (63g) honey

2 tablespoons (35g) heavy cream

1 1/2 cups (129g) sliced almonds

2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin (about 2/3 of a packet or 3 to 4 sheets)

2 tablespoons (28g) water

1 cup (227g) heavy cream whipped to very soft peaks

3-ounce package instant vanilla pudding mix

1 1/2 cups (340g) milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

1-Start with preheating your oven to 180°C (356°F) and greasing a baking pan for even cooking. This step helps the cake release easily and ensures a golden finish. Combine the flour, yeast, sugar, salt, eggs, butter, and water in a bowl to form the dough.

2-Mix the dough until it’s smooth and elastic, then let it rest to allow the yeast to activate. Once ready, shape it into your pan and bake as directed. While it bakes, prepare the honey almond topping by heating the butter, sugar, honey, cream, and almonds in a pan until bubbly.

3-After the initial bake, spread the topping evenly and return to the oven for a few more minutes. For the filling, bloom the gelatin in water, then whip the cream and mix it with pudding, milk, and vanilla. Cool the cake fully before adding the filling to keep layers distinct.

4-Spread the filling between cake layers for that classic creaminess, then chill to set.
