πŸ§€ Grilled Cheese Sandwich Recipes offer the perfect balance of crispy, buttery bread and gooey, melted cheese for a classic comfort food treat.
πŸ”₯ This recipe is easy to prepare and guarantees delicious results every time using simple stovetop techniques.

  • Total Time: 12 minutes
  • Yield: 1 sandwich 1x

Ingredients

Scale

2 slices sourdough bread, sliced 1.3 to 1.5 cm thick

30 grams or about 2 tablespoons salted butter for spreading

1/3 cup heaped vintage cheddar cheese or gruyere, freshly grated

30 grams or 1/3 cup freshly grated mozzarella cheese

Instructions

1-Butter both sides of each bread slice thoroughly to lock in that golden crispiness.

2-Heat a heavy-based skillet or frying pan over medium-low heat without any oil or additional butter to start building flavor.

3-Lightly toast both bread slices in the pan for 1 minute to warm them and form a light crust for better texture.

4-Flip one slice, add the cheddar cheese followed by the mozzarella cheese, then top with the other toasted bread slice to create the sandwich.

5-Cook for 3 minutes or until golden and crisp, pressing lightly with a spatula; lower the heat if it browns too quickly to keep things even.

6-Flip the sandwich and cook the other side for another 3 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is fully melted for that perfect gooey pull.

7-Transfer to a cutting board, cut in half, and serve immediately to enjoy the melted cheese at its best.
