๐Ÿฅฉ Perfect Grilled Steak with Herb Butter delivers a juicy, tender steak enhanced with rich, flavorful herb butter.
๐Ÿ”ฅ This recipe provides a foolproof method to achieve restaurant-quality results at home with simple ingredients and grilling techniques.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

– 2 bone-in strip steaks, each 1 pound and cut 1 1/2 inches thick

– 3/4 tablespoon rock salt for the steak seasoning

– 1 1/2 teaspoons whole black peppercorns for the steak seasoning

– 1/2 teaspoon minced dried garlic for the steak seasoning

– 1/2 teaspoon minced dried onion for the steak seasoning

– 1/4 teaspoon fennel seeds for the steak seasoning

– 1/8 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes for the steak seasoning

– 1 stick (1/2 cup) softened salted butter for the herb butter

– 1 tablespoon finely minced fresh rosemary for the herb butter

– 1 tablespoon finely minced fresh thyme for the herb butter

– 2 tablespoons chopped parsley for the herb butter

– 1 pressed or minced garlic clove for the herb butter

– A pinch of the homemade steak seasoning for the herb butter

– Vegetable oil for rubbing the steaks (amount as needed)

Instructions

1-First, coarsely grind the steak seasoning ingredients using a mortar and pestle or crush them in a heavy-duty bag for even flavor distribution.

2-Then, mix the herb butter ingredients thoroughly, shape them into a log, and chill until firm to let the flavors meld.

3-Next, trim large fat pieces from the steaks, pat them dry, rub with vegetable oil, and season generously with the steak seasoning, pressing it in well for better adhesion.

4-Preheat the grill to around 500ยฐF by lighting half to two-thirds of the burners to create two heat zones, which helps control cooking.

5-Sear the steaks on the hot side for about 1 1/2 minutes per side with the lid closed to lock in juices and get that perfect crust.

6-Move the steaks to the cooler side and cook with the lid down for 7-10 minutes, adjusting for thickness and your preferred doneness.

7-Finally, remove the steaks and let them rest for at least 15 minutes before topping with slices of herb butter to keep them tender.
