Instructions
1-Preheat the oven: Set to 350ยฐF. Line the pan as noted to prevent sticking.
2-Make the crust: Beat 8 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature), 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt until creamy. Mix in 1 cup all-purpose flour until dough forms.
3-Press and bake crust: Press dough evenly into the prepared pan. Bake 20 to 22 minutes until edges turn golden.
4-Prepare filling: Whisk 3/4 cup corn syrup, 1/4 cup packed brown sugar, 2 large eggs, 2 tablespoons flour, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Stir in 1 1/2 cups pecan pieces.
5-Add filling: Pour over hot crust.
6-Bake again: 25 to 30 minutes until filling is golden and set.
7-Cool and chill: Cool completely on a wire rack, then refrigerate at least one hour.
8-Cut and serve: Slice into 12 bars. For adaptations, use subs from earlier throughout.
