– ΒΌ cup salted butter, cut into pieces

– 4 ounces mild cheddar cheese, shredded

– 4 ounces smoked Gouda cheese, shredded

Instructions

1- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and coat a 9Γ—13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

2- In a shallow bowl, combine the dried thyme, dried parsley, garlic salt, dried oregano, cayenne pepper, and dry mustard.

3- Arrange half of the sliced onions evenly in the prepared baking dish, then sprinkle with half of the seasoning mixture, add half of the butter pieces, and top with half of the cheddar and Gouda cheeses.

4- Repeat the layering with the remaining onions, seasoning mixture, butter, and cheese to build a second layer.

5- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 40 minutes, until the onions are soft and the sides are bubbly.

6- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 to 30 minutes, until the top turns golden and crispy.
